Help Please

I've got 2 86 MR2's.One I bought for my son 2 years ago and one I just got.My sons MR2 decided to quit revving up.The guy I bought that one from is a friend of mine and said that happened to him and it was the TPS.I got a TPS and replaced it according to the specs. It still won't rev.The one I bought for myself runs excellent so I figured I would just swap parts until the boys ran properly and then buy what we needed.I swapped everything from the airbox to the intake manifold and the thing still won't rev?
My next thought is the fuel pump but before I go through that much work I thought I would see if anyone else had any ideas.
Thanks in advance!

Check fuel pressure on the car that won't rev. Should be around 40psi.

I'd definitely trouble shoot the fuel delivery next. How well does the car start up? Does it take a lot of cranking? Also, have you checked for any engine codes?

USA fUEL pRESSURE-uP

There is a VSV (Vacuum Switching Valve) located on the rear firewall that connects to the FPR (Fuel Pressure Regulator) to jack up the fuel pressure after warmup and the Cold Start injector drops off.

I agree w Mike if you have not tampered with the distributor this appears to be a fuel issue.
