Put my Mr2 on the Dyno agin

So last Saturday was Dyno Day at King Motorsports, and I just finished my A2W ic in time, with 1 day to spare. I didn't quite hit my goal, but I wasn't far off, if it wasn't so dam hot I think I would've made it...

My intake temp on the dyno last fall with the Apexi s/m IC was 147deg; when I dyno's it saturday it was signifacntly down, 101deg, but it was about 90deg in the building; so I was 11deg over ambient! The when we were tuning it it wasn't so hot and my intake temps were 83deg.

I'll take pictures of my new setup tomorrow and post the dyno graph.

But she made 386whp 298lb-ft at 18psi. With the cooler intake temp the air is obviously more dense than before, so I am having more compressor surger issues than before But I bought a new head and I'm having a P/P job and I will run 1mm over valves with BC 272 cams; if that doesn't stop the compressor surge, a Borg Warner s262 will be put in it's place.

My Mr2 can be seen here for 1 second at 2:54

Wow! That is a huge drop in temps. I never realized that A2W made THAT MUCH of a difference.
Impressive numbers.

A2W setups are definetly the way to go. How much did the whole A2W setup cost you? What size turbo are you running? Very nice numbers

I have about $550 into the setup! And I sold my Apexi IC for $530 so It waqs almost a free upgrade! I could have sold my old ic for more, but I don't like sitting on stuff for 3 months trying to get what something is worth...

I am running a Precision 3431E. I am getting a little bit of compressor surge in 5th gear, and sometimes in 4th if it's a cool night. I am upgrading cams this winter, hopefully that will eliminate it! But a guy at King just built a 700whp civic(low boost) and is selling his old Borg Warner S262 turbo that I am considering buying.

I finally had time and took some pictures:

I havent had time to polish it up yet, but I am going to do it the same as I did the intake manifold

Wow! Looks really good Russell! I really like the short path from the turbo -> A2W and then a short trip to the throttlebody.

those are some massive tubular manifold runners....wow. A2W is definetly my next upgrade.

Engine bay temps must be up there. I know my setup it gets pretty hot in there. BTW what EMS are you running

I've seen a few cars with it mounted there and some mounted it to go between the turbo and throttle body so there is no IC pipes, but in my case it would sit above the ex manifold and would not be as efficient.

Are you talking about the runners on the Full Race manifold? That thing is built like a tank, it weighs probably twice as much as my old Berk manifold!

I removed the engine lid shroud to assist in moving as much air as possible, I will be building one of those fan shrouds for it someday.

And I am running an AEM EMS

I finally got tires put on my Supra TT wheels and installed them yesterday; I'll take pics at the meet tomorrow and load them on here. I'm eager to find out if I can even do a burnout now

These aren't my pics, they were taken by others and put on the OC

They don't look the greatest, but they are 95 Supra TT wheels that I have 215/45 hankook evo front and a 275/40 Nitto nt05 rear!! I tried doing a burnout and bouncing off my two step at 4500rpm and dropping the clutch the tires churped twice and the car took off! My car has zero wheel spin with 386WHP

Love the stance and the grip, but I've never been a fan of the style of those wheels, even on the bigger Supra. The spokes are just too thick.

I'm digging the side vents. What kind are they? Molded in Border or something else?

Yeah, I'm liking the side vents too. I bet they grab some air!

well if you really want to reduce your engine bay temps you should seriously consider this
http://www.designengineering.com/cat...-lr-technology

you will see massive reduction in engine bay temps by keeping that manifold heat out.

I didn't get the wheels becuase they look good; I got them for their price and the size of tire I could mount. I also am considering removing some of the aftermarket body stuff to try and make my car more stock looking.

I cannot remember the brand the side vents are, I bought them years ago. They are a carbon kevlar that didn't fit very well so I just fiberglassed then molded them in myself. The place I had paint them didn't match the paint that well, as you can see. But I plan on having the whole car re-painted in a year or two; if I can ever stop buying go fast bits...

I've considered buying that many times just haven't yet; I'm sure I will soon though!
