MR2 Supercharged Advice

Hey All,

I really want to purchase an MR2 SC in the next year or so. But it seems almost impossible to find the right one. Any advice for me? I have looked all over the internet.

It took me years to find mine, just keep on looking since they are very rare indeed, & to find one in decent condition is even harder.

It took me about 4-5 months to find a wrecked S/C on Craigslist (which was what I was looking for) but there were plenty other S/Cs in great condition as well.

I use http://www.crazedlist.org to search everywhere near me.

Good luck!!

I'm pretty much willing to go anywhere for the right deal. that being said, i'm pretty much comfortable to doing most repairs with the exception of the motor. anyway, feel free to pm me if you see a smoking deal. I've recently been looking at this which apparently originated from a user on these forms.

Price is a little high, also, i'm not sure that that bumper and body kit matches the car. Would that be hard to remove/fix back to stock?

finding a good condition s/c and "for the right deal" don't really go hand in hand.

almost all SC owners know what they have and charge like it.....

ok, i guess i should have said "fair deal". Considering the distance i'd be willing to travel and drive it back home. 1000+ miles isn't outside the realm of reason.

also, my friend today got hired on at our local toyota dealership as a mechanic. so that's gonna factor even more into my wanting to get one.

also, if i can't actually find an SC, i guess i'd be willing to settle for any other mk1. any suggestions?

USA

Have you considered doing an engine swap into a NA version of the MK1? You'd actually get a stronger car if you went with the non T-Top version. The SC versions that came to the US were all T-Top as far as I know. You could probably get a JDM engine since they offered it for a lot more years there than in the US.
