SLOOWWW Throttle Response/Bogging??

Well as some of you know, I had major car issues and I've got it fixed for the most part now..

Here's the scoop.. Its still bogging down in low RPM. It really takes some work to build RPM.. I can drive it, but throttle response is almost non existent, even in neutral.. It feels like I'm taking off in 3rd, but I'm not (I checked ).. I don't have any torque or power, but just enough to putz around the yard. I have to slowly press the gas and let the RPMs slowly climb.. Too much throttle and it bogs out.

Anyways, I'm seeing about -10 to -12 vacuum and the car seems to run lien at idle.. And it starts to run a little on the rich side when I'm giving it throttle.. Sometimes it'll be just fine.. But typically, it shows it running a tad rich.. AEM Wideband w/ Uego, so I'm getting legit readings.

Could I be not getting good fuel pressure even though I'm running a little rich? Anyway to check my fuel pump? I've gone over and tightened every hose and vacuum line.. I don't think I'm getting any leaks.

I still need to install my fuel pressure gauge.. I put a thread up about that asking for some help. Also, my low engine oil light is coming on, but when I check the oil, it seems to be just fine?? Still making me nervous.

Bad o2 sensor? Mine looked really brown and gross..

New on the car:
NGK Plugs
NGK Wires
Fuel Filter
Dizzy Cap
Dizzy Rotor

Thanks for being patient with me,

Shane

If I remember correctly, my MR2 idles at -18" Hg. You might have an air plumbing leak.

Few notes:
Use only OEM ignition components other ones from TwosRUs.
Check ignition timing

How are you guys checking for boost/vacuum leaks? Are any of you just making a boost leak tester, hooking it up to the turbo, pressurizing it and listening? Or is there an easier way?

I checked timing awhile ago when I was trying to diagnose my car when it was having way worse problems. The car starts up very easily to without any problems, so I think I can rule timing out.

For vacuum leaks, you can take a can of starter fluid spray, aim it at vacuum hoses and if the idle increases, you've found your leak. Spray it around the intake manifold runners where it meets the head also.
Is timing at 10 degrees BTDC?

Would the timing being off mess with my vacuum? Someone said it would?

How do I check to see if its at 10 degrees? Same was as I was checking timing before? I don't have a timing light or anything.

You must have a timing light to check timing.
If timing is too retarded, then rpms may be low. That would be the only way it would affect vacuum.
There could be many things that could cause the symptoms you describe.

I just noticed this thread after posting in the other one.

Go to a autozone or an advanced auto if you have one in your area and they should have a timing light you can rent. I would check that after I checked all of the vacuum lines

UPDATE

Boost leak test showed I had a lot of micro leaks all over.. I replaced all of the lines that were linking and tightened anything that needed to be. Did a retest and my car held pressure well.

Performed a compression test. My car should be reading at 162psi brand new, and no lower then 128psi. There can be no more then a 14psi difference between each cylinder. All of my cylinders read from 140psi to 150psi.

I checked the timing awhile back before I got the car running slightly better. My cams lined up in their slots and my cam gears lined up with their marks. This was all done visually, but everything appeared to be accurate. My timing belt is also very tight and appears brand new.

After fixing all boost and vacuum leaks, my vacuum is still the same!!.. My overboost problem has been fixed, but I still have low vacuum!! I don't get it..

Ideas now?

Well, I'm at a total loss..

I replaced my MAP sensor with a turbo MAP sensor. NO CHANGE

Only light coming on in my dash is the low oil pressure.... Going to change the oil tomorrow, but I doubt that is the issue..

Do I need my IAC valve coolant lines plugged in or not?

Any other ideas?

When I rev the car and build a little boost, then let off, the vacuum will fall to the -18 range.. But then just climb right back up to -10.. I did a boost leak test and I don't have any major leaks.. So what gives!? Wastegate?

Chasing a snipe here..
