knock sensor........

how many have u guys gone thru??...since owing the car..i've had to replace it four times.....damn thing is so pricey....almost 200 CAD each......

it usually occurs during tuning the car......my driving style is very conservative....i don't beat the shit out of the car on a regular basis......

when pushing the car on the dyno, make sure you've taken all the steps in minimizing knock the best you can. every little thing helps, from a fan in front of the radiator to water injection.
also note that over tightening the ksensor generates a higher output (amplitude) signal. resulting in timing being retarded more than is required. so, I'm guessing, under tightening(or having it farther away, "'cough' gm sensor 'cough.'") will cause the opposite. but, I dunno, maybe you should stock up on used ksensors before tuning time.

no dyno tuning....my tuner hooks up his motec wideband n street tuning....

the gm sensors....how r they adapted to work on our cars??...

I think they need the ATS knock sensor adapter made specifically for the GM ones.

I am still on the original OEM knock sensor in Hyde ... but I do everything in my power to avoid knock

As stated, I would upgrade to the GM Knock sensor & adapter that ATS Racing sells.
