Half the pics are trash... but I'm assuming with some time and a BGB you should be able to pull it off on the 2nd gen. Everything on the 3sgte bolts right in.... so it's just time.

As for the 1st gen... I think that gets a lot more complicated.

Yay guys pics are working now What are the hard parts with the 1st gen mr2. Reason i'm asking is i only have 600 dollars right now and wanted to go the cheap route plus it's hard for me to find a 2nd gen mr2 in the trading post.

Well, the 3S-GTE was sold stock in the MR2 Turbo, so it bolts right into the NA version. As for the 1st Gen, it came with the 4AGE (NA) and 4AGZE (Supercharged), so the 3S-GTE isn't a direct bolt in. People have still done it though.

EDIT: Now the pics are REALLY down.... I can't even see the ones I could before.

The clip may be cheaper but labor or time doing it is going to be a lot more. It seems like someone on here has done it, but I dont remember who. I would check the main board (mr2oc.com) for more information too. How much are these 3S-GTE clips you are looking at?

where are you getting your prices for the front clips? cause I have been searching on car-parts.com and it cost a lot for engine alone.

you will need the whole FRONT clip for the V6 not just the engine cause you will be pulling a lot of parts out of it (saves you the headache).

Irvine huh? I got mine down in San Diego for like $2,200.... but the shop that did my swap just got two 2nd gen engines in a couple of weeks ago. Give them a call..... his name is Jimmy, 562-690-9316. If Jimmy isn't there talk to Tat. The name of the place is JPR Motorsports, they are in La Habra. I think they are selling their 1st gens for like $1400, and their 2nd gens for like $1800. I wish I would have waited and just got one from them, but I wasn't positive they were going to come in.
