crack somewhere in the firewall. This was the case for my '93 Grand Am. I bought it for $500 cash money. I asked the guy why all the holes were in the floorboard and he said to flush all the sand out... my dad and I believed him. I plugged em up with some liquid steel and when it rained, I had an ocean in my car. I ran water from the windshield and found a huge crack in the firewall.

Though, it also could be the rubber around your door is bad and let water in, or your window.

OK. You may be missing one of the rubber grommets in the front firewall that insulate wiring , heater core linkage, accelerator cable, etc., allowing water to come in.
