The the connector in post #15 looks fried. I would test it and/or replace it..
1 of the other connectors in the second picture looks like it might go to the reverse light switch.
Like I stated in a previous post, you need to follow the wires back and see where they go to and maybe we can figure out where they go.
I would also get out the multitester and test all those connectors that go to the starter-including the battery cable.

the connector in post 15, the one i pulled off the starter is my primary concern right now. the rest i will resolve when i get this vehicle started. i did test the power coming into the starter (connected to the left side of the starter) and it shows 12v coming in. i stuck both positive and negative prongs of the multimeter into that connector and got nothing. is there a part # or name for that particular connector? thanks.
re-read the entire post, you have not had the car running again yet? Try push starting the car if you have a manual tranny. I did this to see if I managed to break something else in the process of changing the starter when I got the bad replacement.
I tested the starter switch that is located in the trunk, and re-wired everything going to it, and back to the starter eventually as well. I might still have pictures floating around somewhere, will edit post later if I find them.

i'll reread the post again but any additional information would be helpful. good looking out.
sorry, meant to say "I" re-read it all. was checking to see if you had it running at any point.
nah not yet. i took the starter to have it tested and it works. the autozone employee said to check the harness that clips into the starter itself. im looking for that part number or even a name i can search. searching for starter "harness" or "connection" or "clip" yields a large field of parts. this Friday ima check continuity to that harness, and also look into the ignition module to see if i can find anything going on there.
Try checking this switch in your trunk, it will be behind the trunk carpeting stuff, next to the ECU. I re-wired mine during my troubles. its a relay switch that goes to the starter to tell it when to work.

Oooo good looking out fam. i'll def peep this on the weekend.
i havent had a chance to take a look at what i need to do for the previously posted, but i have a bit of more information. some heads might be interested in this discussion (as id love to have some feedback on it).
i contacted a toyota parts/service rep about locating the harness that seems to be fried out. the harness connects to the alternator and is in the image provided below:
upon searching for this part, the rep informs me that it is part of the engine harness. great information. however, there's bad news: it is a discontinued item. uhhhh, so now what? is there an aftermarket application i can find to replace this, or am i seeking out to find a 20 year old OEM engine harness? this blows among other things. i hope fam here at TN can be of some insight. thanks in advance.
If it's just those few wires and connectors, you can rewire it yourself. Those connectors are easy to get.
OR,there's a member here who is expert at building harness' and wire connectors.
I can't remember his name, but I will try to find out .
You can PM this guy, redliner9k, he's very good at harness' for the 1zz. He may be able to help.
Or you can PM mr2guru, he races 2nd gens and may have a spare he can sell you.Tell him I sent you.
