AW11 project

I wanna end up with a supercharged AW11. I heard that only the 88-89s have the room for a supercharger. So I am going to find a non-supercharged one of those years. Where would I find the supercharged motor and how would or who could install it? I have another car, this can sit for a while. What about twin charging. I don't know much about this.

The engine you are looking for is a 4A-GZE. Are you in Thousand Oaks? If so there is a shop out in La Habra, they did the swap on my '91, and they do a damn good job. They could probably get you both the engine and do the swap.

If they don't have it is stock the place I bought my clip off of should have one, or be able to get one.

Let me know where your at... cause that's a TO zip code.... but I'm not positive.

Yep, I'm in the middle-of-nowhere Thousand Oaks. I can take my time on this aw11 project so no rush. I still need to find a decent looking aw before I buy.

Meh... I'm out in Ventura. Not too far from you. When do you plan on starting this project? That shouldn't be too hard to find. What is your budget?

Well hell... you can get one with a blown engine for like < $500. Then pickup the clip, and have the shop swap it. That should be pretty close to $3k. You should be able to pull that off.

I just talked with the tech at ELPrototypes and he quoted me 1500 for the motor, 1500 for the labor, and of course I need the AW11. So I guess I'm looking at about 5000. This will prolly include the new compression pulley, pistons, wire harnessing, other goodies... Not a bad investment! I'll just have to keep working and saving, plus I'm going to be custom supercharging my current daily driver as well.

I might be buying a '87 NA MR2. I will let you know on Sunday if I don't buy it. If I don't... get your ass down there and get it. The guy wants $300, has a red-top engine, clean title, some front right fender damage, rear wheel barings need to be replaced. The guy wants it out of his driveway. On Sunday I will decide if I want the shit or not. I'll take some pics... and send them to you if I don't want it.

BTW... that shop your talking about sucks ass. I don't know the shop... but that's way too much. My shop charged me $800. You can also get that clip for MUCH cheaper than that. I have seen 3sgte's go for that. Screw that shop man.... rip off.

Goddamn that looks nice, but I don't have enough money right now. I'll have enough by the end of summer. I'm working my ass off to save up the money. BTW, the aw11s before 88-89 have a smaller engine bay which requires cutting and modification to swap in a 4agze
