who the hell is harry??..........

the ontario mr2 club has monthly meets and also TN has monthly meets.....if u show up.....u might get to see some mr2s....there is a 91 NA currently for sale now.....check out the buy n sell section....although cuz of ur age....i wouldn't recommend u buying an mr2 unless u have really deep pockets and/or nice parents....these cars aren't the most practical cars n most of us have a second car.....

^ True that deep pockets / extra car comment. It would suck if I didn't have my Supra... I would be out of a car a lot. Not to mention not being able to go anywhere with more than one person. So far... maintainance hasn't been THAT bad... but I'm just waiting for it to hit.

I pay $110 per month, 9 months out of the year. I'm in California, 17 years old, clean driving record. I am only considered 20% driver on it, even though I am 100% (i get a cheaper rate), and 80% on my Supra. And thats insured as a NA.

insurance will prolly be killer for u.....given ur age n lack of driving experience.....it maybe a lil lower if u got an NA...but premiums would be super high if u got a turbo.......if u plan to only insure the mr2 for spring/summer...u'll still have to leave on fire and theft coverage for the months its in storage...its unwise to totally take insurance off a car every year n reactivate it when its back on the road.........

yes....i do know harry....that punk.....

if u want an MR2, better do the following...:

make sure u get loads of cash, from ur parents, or get a job...when i mean a job, get sth tht pays u @ least 150 bucks a week considering the whole thing goes towards ur car...

talk to ur parents, see if they could be first driver...if not, u would end up like me, off on my own...for ur information...i haf an AW11, first gen MR2, tht car is 18 years old, car costs 1800...insurance costs 5k per year...and thts only liability..

be ready to take care of the car as well, it's not very likely u will get a very young mr2, i think u are looking @ if MK2, sth like 91-93...cars at this age will have problems...face it...and u need to learn how to do stuff urself...changing sth in a FR/FF car might cost $xx, but in a MR2, due to it's MR setup, it's gonna cost you loads of cash...

and the above is right, you do need a second car, don't think u can drive in the snow with winter tires on an mr2...it's going to kill your car...and if you don't haf the skills, it's going to kill you

don't be impulsive, i was almost dead a month ago becoz i don't haf detailed planning on buying car...

an advice, SHOP AROUND...there is no such thing called: 'once in a lifetime deal' (although i got a hell of a good deal on my AW11)...always look at ALL the options available to you...if you don't like it, don't force yourself...MR2s are rare, but there isn't only one...

also, cheap price doesn't mean the car is in bad condition, expensive price doesn't mean the car is in good condition, always check things out yourself..if you are not experienced enough, bring a friend along with you...
