Mr2 map sensor? need help :(

AHHH helps the word...im having nothing but hassle getting my MR2 on the road so im hoping whole heartedly someone here can help me, theres a pint in it for anyone who does!

Ok i have an mr2 i got as a freebie with a cooked engine, i bought a new engine for it and am getting a mechanic to fit this for me. The engine is a T-Vis and apparently the one i got is a different variation so the guys had to toy around with the injectors and what have u...all double dutch to me im afraid. The problem is this....it runs but very rough, the emmisions are sky high at 9% and is running extremely rich, ive seeked help b4 and got told possible a map sensor, but the mechanic says he does not know what to do! So he's left it to me to try and find out. I have taken a few pictures.

The last one is a crap diagram i tried to draw of the layout, the big block on top with T-Vis written on it...on the right of this at the bottom theres a THICK load of wiring coming up and these 2 cable split off from it, theres an empty screw hole at the top on the top of the body wall. Maybe a block of sensors went here and these 2 cables plug into it to control the emmissions?

The other pictures are ones of the cables, please excuse the bad quality pictures...so there you have it, does anyone have any ideas? im stuck and just wanna get her on the road, the guys had it 2 months now

Thanks ANYONE who can assist
