mr2 mkII stereo removal

Help me!!! Have just bought mkII '94 and have no idea how to remove the oe stereo! Any advice would be much appreciated

all you need to do is unclip the shift boot from the base, the pop the base up it just unclips, remove the ash tray this will expose two screws remove them, then you can remove the plastic around the radio, you will have to unplug the hazerds and the cigeret lighter but it will pop right out, then just remove the 4 screws for the radio and your good to go

Thanks. Managed to get that done today! Now just gotta figure out what to do with the wiring and the standard sub..... any ideas how to deal with system setup from a 4-channel aftermarket headunit???????

they make adapters that plug into the factory harness and mounting plates for the radio then it just a mater if you want to keep the factory sub if not just run the cables for an aftermarket amp and sub :-)
