leaky distributor

is it normal to have oil leaking into the rotor cap from the distributor?

i don't know why it's doin' that....argghhh. it leaks into the cap...just a small amount, but then it leaks out of the cap and drips all over the hoses and such, then down the tranny.

has anyone experienced this?

also, there is a small opening on the bottom of the distributor casting. is there suppose to be a hose hooked up or what? could this be what's causing the leak?

someone from MR2OC.com said that the internal seal is bad. sounds good, but i want some confirmation on this. thanks.

The bearing and seal inside is busted. Probably due to engine over heat. Time for new disy. Had same thing with my 5S-FE.
