Does anyone know how to tell if a MKII TURBO tranny is LSD or not? Maybe by the serial # or something? I'm looking to buy one and I don't want to get ripped off. Thanks.

You can check the code on the certification lable (spare tire-well at the front)

it should read somethin like this: A/TM: -735/E153

the "5" at the end of 735 indicates LSD. A "3" also means its LSD. If it has any other digit its not LSD.

"3" = 2 pinion LSD

"5" = 4 pinion LSD

Incidently E153 is the manual turbo trans. S54 is the NA turbo trans. Auto trans is S51.

This info came from Al-sw20 on the mr2oc board.

thanks for the replies but I am most likely to get a JDM one, which would already be removed from the car.
