You can basically make one from a ct26. There are a few kits out there.... but it is generally cheaper to do a 3sgte swap... or just sell your car and buy a turbo. I went the 3sgte swap route... and I'm very happy with it.

Putting a turbo on the automatic NA MR2 engine will most likely blow up the engine just as well as the ones with a manual tranny.

Where did you buy your 3sgte?
I am thinking about doing what you did.....
Seems to be the cheaper way but requires patience...

Right in your home town

ARD Performance in San Diego (kinda Chula Vista'ish). http://ardperformance.com

But the shop that did my swap had 2 very clean ones in last time I was there (http://jprmotor.com). Also "Dennis" on the boards here sells them. http://ctjengines.com

All in SoCal.

I did the full swap. I used a wrecked turbo for all of the parts and wiring. If you don't have at least a full clip and some mechanical knowledge, don't do it. It would probably be cheaper just to buy a turbo, although I do save about a $100 a month in insurance.

i started to buy a non turbo mr2 that was super cheap but soon relized that converting over to a turbo was going to be a real job.so i decided to spend the money and get a factory turbo car.from what i can tell the people who have done the turbo coversions seem to have many problems with them.

I did mine two years ago and have had very few problems. (no more than to be expected from a 13 year old car)
