Question I want a turbo but what should i get

I would like to buy a turbo that i can put on my mk1 1986. I don't need any thing big just something to help the car out. Just wondering what i should look for, how much i am going to spend, and if i could find a good one on a car in the junk yard that would bolt up to my car.

Also my car is completely stock i have done nothing to the engine so if there is anything that needs to be done in prep for the turbo.

I'd assume you could use a ct26... you could probably get one for pretty cheap too.... and have it rebuilt. You will also want low compression pistons and an intercooler if you plan on running very much boost.

Have you ever considered a 20v or SC swap?

Will both of these just fit on I don't really know much about a turbo i just know what they can do. So any help would be appericated and also. Is there any links to the Ct turbo so i can read up on it? I am kind of clueless on how to install and what i need to do the engine when it comes to turbos.
