Brake Rotor Removal

Howdy, any tricks to removing the front brake rotor? It is not sliding off and I need to replace the wheel studs. I should be able to access the wheel lug studs once the rotor is off, right? Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks. Car is a 91 turbo (for sale). Thanks. Rob

I'm pretty sure you need to take the caliper off. There are two bolts on the back side of the caliper... undo those... and give it a little bit of a tug.

Caliper is off, along with the brake pad holding thingy. I thought then the rotor would just slide off but it's being stubborn. There are two small holes in the rotor, 180 degrees apart and a threaded hole in the center of the hub. I'm thinking that it may require a puller but the FSM doesn't say anything about a puller or a special tool. Thanks. Rob

Same here. Just replaced mine after about 150k and they practically fell off into my hands. I think you might just have some rust or something holding them on there. A little elbow grease should do the trick.

Thanks 2wicked. Soaked it with some 321 and then whacked it a couple of times with a BFH. Popped right off then used the same BFH to knowck out the broken wheel lugs. Thanks.
