Diff. between SW20 and SW21

Whats the difference between a SW20 and a SW21?

sw20 is stock turbo (3sgte) and sw21 is non-turbo (5sge?)

SW21's had the 2.2L 5sfe, found also in the Camry and Celica...

not a 5sge...

a 5SGE would be a hybrid version of the 2.0L 3sge and the 5sfe...

G and F in the engine code stands for performance or fuel economy heads, respectively

SW20 is just the chassis code.

I believe it goes....

- SW20, 3SGE (NA)
- SW21, 5SFE (NA)
- SW22, 3SGTE (Turbo)
- SW23, 3SFE (NA)


They are all just classified as SW20 though.

Nevermind..... it was the UK that got the 3sfe.

SW20 is the chassis code.

SW21's are the NAs
SW22's are the turbos.
Outside of the US some turbos have SW20 vins.
