MAF Problems

my MAf sensor is having prblems and making my car act funny I know that its the maf because I put it on a scanner and bingo exact match...its hard to find another turbo mr2 around here so is there any possible substitute? if so are they any that would be an upgrade or are they all the same thing? such as a 7mgte supra one?

are you talking about the AFM-air flow meter? if so, then i wouldn't advise goin' supra or what not. it's possible, but too much splicing and fabrication of wires and all. if you screwed it up by unscrewing the screws, then just open it up and fix it. save yourself some money. that's what i did.

You can't use the Supras:

Our AFM outputs a signal from 5V to 0V, based on airflow, with 0 volts being max airflow.
The Supra one goes from 0V to 5V, with 5 volts being the maximum airflow.

i've heard that about the RX-7 AFM. i haven't gotten any confirmation from anyone who's ever successfully done it, though. lemme tell you something, save yourself up to $120 by opening the AFM and fixing it. just solder the contacts together and BOOM...it'll work.
