hey bud im new to toyotanation. im a member on honda-tech.com

I have the same problem with my 92 nonturbo. say i open the engine lid like 5 times. 2 out of the five times it won't open. so i just push the hood a little right at the latch and it will open then. my friend with a mr2 turbo 1991 his doesn't even open though

On the corners of the lid are little rubber "spring screws."
Simply loosen them a little bit to get more spring from your engine lid.

Easy fix

Hi all, new member here.

I have a '91 Turbo with 125,000 km.

It has been in the garage for a couple of years and i have just started to get it ready for the street again.

Did a search thru the forum for my latch problems and this came a little close.

Had a little difficulty getting my front hood and engine cover open....now I can't get them to close. Lubricated the latches and they aren't seized, still no luck getting them to close.

Are there any adjustments that can be made to the latches?

Thanks in advance, Steve
