Tranny problems

Car's been running fine for two days (lol) and as I pulled out of a parking lot today, i took 1st till around 5grand, shifted into second and imediately i heared a long banging noise... its in intervals depending on speed... sounds/feels like if its hitting the body/frame... every time it ticks it budges the engine a little bit up... I can put it in gear, it will roll... take gears fine...

wondering if maybe the open diff could have broken as i shifted into 2nd? or could it be an axle or axle joint? I really have no idea... wont really know till tomorrow either... Just trying to think up of what it could be... Any ideas?

If MR2s brake axles, it is usually right on the launch.
I have never heard of anyone breaking the diff.
If you can select any gear and it rolls, I would tihnk your tranny is fine.

My guess, since it happend at the moment you shifted, maybe it is your motor mounts.
