I recently purchased an '87 MR2. It ran fine for a while, then smoke appeared from the engine. I am no mechanic, but i think this came from the alternator - is this common? Since then i tried to start it the other day and the belts were screeching real bad, and the smoke appeared again. Any ideas? Thanks
