emissions inpection

i failed my emmissions inspection for my 92 mr2. apparently, my nox level was too high. the mechanic said i have to do some stuff with my EGR. im gonna take it out to clean to see if it will help. any other advice or tips from you guys to help me pass?

no mods except for a jacob's ignition kit. but that was installed before i bought the car 2 months ago. the guy i bought the car from babied the car. no mechanical problems that i have noticed.

I added octane boost the day before i had my emissions test done. not sure if it was the reason it passed or not, but it passed none the less. Put some in and drive around a few days. that should help (and its cheap too).

Thanks for the advice, I had the same problem too. But I pass the test though. Mine was high which it suddenly drop for no reason. Something must be wrong with my car.
