Unhappy MAF flapping?

Just want to know what would happen if your mass air flow sensor is broken? Because when im driving right when I let go of the gas I hear a flapping noise on my engine right behind me. It sounds like the little door in side the MAF. Just want to know if this thing ever happen to anybody else.

Oh come on MRQ, set him straight.

It's an AFM, not an MAF.
