having problems mounting TOMS SCOOPS - Toyota Nation Forum : Toyota Car and Truck Forums

hey I have the 2 toms scoops but I heard some guy in the shop saying that when they try and mount them the engine lid wont open or close...anyone mounted these b4 ?

It really depends. Sometimes they are a good fit sometimes they aren't. My friend just put in two and the engine lid still lifts but my other friend only put in one and the engine lid always gets stuck. Just get a bodyman to help you out.

where did you buy your roof scoops because i'm planning on buying one or two too

I have both sides on mine. They didn't fit for shit. I had to fabricate my own mounts using sheet metal , rubber , nuts and bolts. You'll either have to use your imagination and make it work or have a good body shop do it. Have fun....

The left side is easy to find... They're everywhere. But the rightside is more difficult to locate. I got the left one from Ebay and the right one from another MR2 owner. And luckily it was already painted the same color as my 2. I paid $90.00 for the left and $60.00 for the right.
