Loss of boost pressure after induction service on '91 turbo
Hey, this is my first post around here. I recently (a month or so ago) picked up a very clean 91 MR-2 turbo w/ 100k, and I took it in to a Greg's Japanese Auto for maintenance today, as the car needed a coolant flush. In addition to this, I had them do an 'induction service' as they said the throttle body & intake manifold were pretty dirty from the car running rich due to a bad O2 sensor previously in the car's life.
Now, I got the car back today and it drives the the same in every respect except that at WOT the boost will climb no higher than about 6lb and it seems a little slower getting there. I know the computer limits boost when it's cold (40 degress at intake I think) or in first gear, but this was across all the gears, worse in the higher ones. My guess is that they didn't correctly tighten one of the boost hoses? No dummy lights are going off, and I'm estimating the pressure by the factory gauge, but the car definately feels like it's not attaining full boost as it used to as well.
I'm taking it back tommorrow morning, but if anyone has any ideas before then, please let me know. Thanks in advance.
