85 MR2 with 1zzfe

I've been looking all over the internet trying to find someone that has swapped a 1zzfe or 2zzge into a MK1 MR2. If anyone has any info on something like this please let me know.

I need light weight/high torque motor for canyon racing. I've got the money to buy the swap right now I just wanna know what I'll be getting myself into.

Thanks

I don't think it has been done. The 3sgte goes in relitivily easy with some modifications to the motor mounts and has more power than both the 1zz and 2zz.

Anything can be done.... but the price would be a lot for the performance. 2zz is a good swap for the MRS cause it bolts right in... but I think on the MKI you would be better off with a 3sgte swap.

Thanks for the info. I'm gunna be staying all motor so I might just go with the frankenstein swap. 7afe 1.8 block with 4age head. I'm still researching the subject.

And speaking of the 2zz-ge I have yet to find a single web sight that sells that engine used. If you know of any please let me know. That was my first choice for an N/A swap.

couldn't you just get the 7A crank and build your 4A with it?

Yeah, I could. That would actually be a lot better because then I wouldn't have to find special timing belts and all that. But I think that crank requires the larger block. I have an 86 engine with 40mm journals. I think the 7afe comes with 42mm journals. I'll have to ask around but I don't wanna buy all theses new bearings, crank, and rod bearings without being sure.

If anyone knows about this swap, I'd be interested in hearing from you.
