FCD adjustment

I have a HKS FCD set on #7 which cuts fuel @17psi. Can it be adjusted to cut fuel at a higher boost level? If so, what # would that be? also, I have heard that stock pistons in 3sgte are good to 18 psi boost. any truth to that?

You have to plug the hose that goes to the pressure sensor. You can only push fuel cut back to 17psi.... after that you have to completely disable it.

In your post here:

... I already explained that the max boost you can adjust fuel cut to is 17.7 psi ... the HKS FCD raises it to 17 psi.

The danger to our "pistons" (and the rest of the engine) is not too much boost..
The danger is detonation ... with proper intercooling, water injection, appropriate fuel and tuning lots of boost is possible.
I am currently racing at 23-24 psi of boost on a 200,000+ mile original engine.

AFAIK, no one has found the "boost limit" of the engine.
Think about it, your tires can hold 30-40 psi of air pressure and they are just rubber ... we are talking about a bolted together metal engine.

Again, the limit is detonation. The question is how much cylinder pressure the 3SGTE can handle, not how much boost. Control cylinder pressure and you are going to make a lot of safe power.
