About this v6 engine.......

I keep hearing of people dropping v6's in the sw20/mkII. Where are you guys getting these from? How much more do they weigh? How much power do they produce? How much power can you squeeze out of them? Do you plan on super/turbo charging?

I've seen this mod in some tuner mag somewhere, but it was several years ago.

Thanks for any info !

They are using the 1mzfe out of the Camry/Solara. TRD makes a bolt on supercharger... and they weight about the same as the 3sgte. Read up in the Camry forums about any info you are looking for on power output.

I found a guy on Cardomain.com that is doing the 1mzfe swap.
http://www.cardomain.com/id/r33pickup It's on page 3. He doesn't have pics up yet but said they'll be coming soon!

There are actually quite a few people who have done it now, including me (not to my car though, unfortunately).

You can find a lot of info here:

There are also some photos of the swap I did here:

Sweet, thank you. Now that I'm more informed, I'll be passing on the thought of having the 1mzfe. I'm not a torque junky, I was raised better than that. Just kidding, no flames. I've had an '86 mr2 ( a couple of them ) since I could drive, I guess I'm just used to feeling power start at 3500rpm and increase all the way to redline. I just got an sw20/mkII and I HATE the 5sfe. Power starts to drop at 5000rpm and by 5500rpm you think something is wrong with the motor because all of your power just dissappeared.
