4age Head Mod Please Help!!!!!!!!

I have a 88 mr2 with a blown engine , so i found another 4age. While i have it out i am trying to give it some more bottom end. I have owned one before and they are way doggish under 4000. rpm. anyway heres my ques. Would i get any more hp by decking the head? If so how much and if not here is my mods and any suggetion would help. i have 1 week before the mechanic has to install it.

Trd header
trd exhaust
hks degreeable cam gears
web 262 cams

thanks T

are you sure your t-vis was working properly?

if you shaved the head you would get higher compression ratio, which in turn would give you slightly more HP. fuel used a timing would also come into play here.

what is the other 4age you now have?

you can also do a 5 angle valve job which will show some very slight gains down low in the powerband on a dyno. decking the block...well, i would do it just to ensure a good surface. you can do what feral said and use a metal headgasket too.
there's discussion on the MR2OC board, though regarding all of this machine work and how it only nets a couple of horsepower, though. i dunno, i did some of it and found some extra juice on my MkI SC.
your best bet to raise compression would be to use a shortblock from a later Corolla. some AE92's had the hi-comp 4AG-E and the AE101's had them for sure. and yes, they bolt right up to the large port head.
