Lightbulb Will a bad vsv valve make car run rich

Hey Gentlemen

Just wondering will a bad vsv valve make your car run rich. My vsv valve is supposed to have between 33 and 39 ohms.........It actually has 43.9 which tells me it is bad. My car is running really rich. Will this bad vsv cause that.

I believe there is more than one VSV.

Usually people refer the the VSV that activates "Extra" boost and that will not affect you running rich or not.

If the TVIS is activated by a VSV that may cause you to be rich.
Not sure if the TVIS is VSV controlled or not.

MR2s run rich ... those that run excessively rich usually have old ignition components or a blown knock sensor.

Have you checked codes?

Hello

Sorry this is a 91 n/a the vsv is located on the block below the fuel rail. No codes will trip. Nothing will trip not even the no code signal. Already tried a new ECU and still the same.

Ohh, you're talkin about the EGR VSV or Fuel Pressure VSV. Since it's not within spec, replace it. You should also check the ECU Temp Sensor. Usually, that'll be the cause for running excessively rich.

The ECU Temp Sensor is near the water inlet where the green plug on top is.
