Any alteration to the factory emssions system is against Federal law.
I can almost gaurantee you that it is also against your state law (especially in California).

Do lots of people still do this mod?
Yes.

Thanks for the advice. Does anyone have any suggestions on what exhaust i should get. I own a 91 mr2 turbo. I'm mainly looking for something legal, that doesn't decrease the performance. Thanks for any replies.

If you want to keep it legal you will need to keep both cats and keep it under the sound limit. Doens't leave too much to pick from. I have the Greddy SP catback... seems to work out pretty well noisewise... at least until the downpipe and b-pipe are in.

The piping is 60mm diameter. 1 canaster but 2 tips....looks almost like stock muffler but slightly bigger and better looking.
