1991 MR2 Turbo Question

I'm new to the Toyota world, and just found a private seller letting go of a 1991 MR2 Turbo with 59K original miles. Just had a 60k mile tune-up, and had the turbo replaced, never been in any wrecks. VERY interested in buying it, always loved the car. But I was wonderinf it here is anything I need to know about that particular year. if there are any major problems with it, and if it will be a decently reliable car. Thanks for any input.

^ I would be a little bit weary as to the way the owner drove the car... with 59k miles he must drive like a madman and not maintain regularly to have to replace the turbo so soon. I'm at 174,xxx miles and my turbo still only has very little play (I am second owner, anal with maintenance) If you can get a compression test and/or leak downtest to see how well everything else is... Take a good look for how clean the car was kept... will tell you a little bit about how the owner treated the car... umm... Now if the car is to SPEC the car should be reliable... I've never been stranded by my car (well except for the time I snapped a motor mount, but that was my fault) I usually have time to get home when something fails lol. If you can find someone who knows a decent amount about the car to check it out w/ you (check on regional mr2 forums) Hope all that ramble helps, its early and i have to go to work

Good luck.
