not saying you don't make the power with the turbo but if you can replace it with continous boost without the lag why not?

Yes, there is a supercahrger kit available for the 3SFE MR2.
A supercahrger will never have the same HP potential as a turbo.

Just because they both make boost doesnt mean they are pretty much the same...

A supercharger and a Turbo charger are as different as a Ritz cracker and a can of Tuna

I work for an automotive section of a newspaper and here is an article I wrote on super- and turbocharging. There are pros and cons to both. I think this will clear up a lot for you:

it boils down to what you want a supercharger will create more low end torque and power. where as a turbo will create more top end power. they both have advantages and disadvantages a supercharger is does not create an oven under the hood either. most of them are self contained oil so no need for extra oil lines.

turbo as mentioned in the article though can make more boost. a supercharger can make more boost by atlering the size of the pulley though. there is a lot to both sides of the story. it all comes down to what you want from the engine. superchargers are more expensive but do have less maintince required on some models.
