Question Wheel spacers for the rear 17x7

I recently swaped the rims from my Camry to the MR2. Theres slight gap that is pretty noticable in the rear. What mm spacer do you guys recommend? 5mm,15mm,20mm,or 25mm?

What type of gap are you referring to?

A spacer doesn't have anything to do with fender gap. You need some lowering springs to reduce the gap.

I already have tein s-tech lower spring on my MR2-T. Sorry for confusing you. What I meant to say was to fill the gap I have between the tire and the outside. I need to know what spacer to use to push the rear wheels out more. Thats when the spacers will come to play. Usual people put 17x7 in the front and 17x8 in the rear. I'm trying to get the 17x8 look in the rear since I have 17x7 all around.

just measure the space between the sidewall of the tire and the inner fender well. Then use that measurement to decide what size spacer you need. I gather you are wanting a wider stance in the year bringing the tires as close to the fenders without rubbing?make sure you account for a small gap so as not to rub . the most common size spacers I have seen are 5mm.

I measured it today 5mm seems to be a perfect fit without rubbing. I'm going to go with 5mm spacer. The rest are just too much and I will have problems later. Thanks for the info.

With a 5mm spacer, you may want to consider getting longer wheel studs. You are losing a lot of thread in 5mm.

I heard spacer is dangerous. The stud might snap off. Can you have spacer and do hard turning? Not really racing or AutoX. I want to space out my rear rims a bit but don't want them to come off.

I have 20 mm spacers on the back of my 93 mr2... given I made flares to cover the wheels protruding from the body... but I have not had any trouble with the spacer coming loose or being damaged in any way.... I'll have pictures up soon.

You won't have a problem if you buy H&R spacers. And, they come with the studs.

I frankly think that you are wasting your money for 5mm, though. I'd seriously look at 10 mm spacers, which is what I run for my 17x7 Konigs. Of course, wheel offset is what really matters, not width.

IMO, do things the right way and buy new wheels. There are plenty of deals to be had on wheels nowadays.

MitchB is right. the HR's come with the proper size studs. they are totally safe. and the offset "is"what matters in relationship to the positioning of the wheel in the fender well as to how far they stick out or tuck inwards.
