Tricky Radiator Fan Problem--HELP!

Have my 1991 MkII at the dealer shop trying to fix this problem. They claim to have checked a number of relays and other components, and believe the issue is the A/C Amplifier (Toyota P/N 88650-17120). Unfortunately, Toyota doesn't carry this part as a replacement. The dealer suggested I look at wreck-yards or other parts dealers. Does anyone have any expertise in this problem? Is Toyota on the right track? And where might I find this part? Feel free to e-mail me if you wish--bender-j@sbcglobal.net. Thanks!

you may also check that they aren't bent. the donor car I bought got too friendly with a curb and bent the radiator slightly, but enough that the fan blades hit their shouds. Sometimes they spin, sometimes they bind up. The plastic blades don't make a real scrubbing sound either.

What exactly is your tricky radiator fan problem? I won't come on or is it constantly on?
Remember, most if not all dealearships or repair shops won't warranty or guarantee any parts supplied by the customer, even if they performed the labor.

Yeah, I'd be major skeptical of a Toyota DEALERSHIP that couldn't get a TOYOTA part. That just sounds like a crock of %$#@ to me.

Let me guess, you fixed it already, since that's about 10 days ago.

Either way, what was the problem? I've done a lot of work with the A/C amp and fans because of my, umm, special needs for cooling.

Yes, it's an N/A. It IS a 3.0 liter V6 though. Does that matter?
