Unhappy bizarre oils problem help!!

well here's the thing. i had my oil changed a month and a half ago. 4 days ago i satrted my car and the oil lamp light blinked for a couple of seconds. i thought this may have been due to the freezing weather. i drove to the nearest gas station and checked the oil dip stick. it basically revealed i practicslly had no oil. i checked underneath the car for any oilpan leaks and found some oil residue around the connection to the Turbo Oil hose ( no drips just residue) i poured a quart of oil just to get me home.

today i finally drove the car around the block and checked the oil level. it was s till low, but more than the inital check. i poured 3 quarts of 10 / 40 synthetic and let the car run for a few minuites. when i checked the dipstick it still indicated i had very little oil!! How is this possible? is there something wrong with the dipstick? is it not reading correctly?

trhe car is not dripping oil on the pavement nor is it smokeng as a result of "blow by" .im worried i may have put too much oil as a result of the dipstick read...Help!

Drain your oil to find out for sure and if it is wrong get another dipstick.
