Hi rpm boost

Just wondering how much boost drop at hi rpm you guys normally get with stock ct26 turbo.
ie using g-valve mine peaks at 14psi briefly and drops to about 11psi by 5000rpm.

On my stocker I would keep steady boost pretty much all the way through the rpm range. What are your mods?

Hello Nivek, welcome to the board.

The stock CT26 is a quick spooling, low rpm turbo.
It does not pull hard to redline. Generally speaking it runs out of breathe around 5500 rpms.

If you are racing to redline, you have missed your ideal shift point.
If you want the car to run hard to redline, you are going to need a bigger turbo.

if he stays at 11 + psi throughout the rpm range this shoud mean his boost pressures are ok. his fuel flow and pressures may not keep up. also additional p&p on the head would give good hp gains. this is just one of several opinions which is what keeps tunning interesting.good luck.....

I assure you that what I stated above is accurate.

Fuel flow will never be an issue on the 3SGTE with the stock turbo.
P&P the 3SGTE head will only offer minimal gains (unlike most cars), because our head is so well designed to begin with.

Regardless, you can push all the air you want through the engine, it will still get blocked up in the smallish CT26 turbine housing.

Again, if you want the car to pul lto redline, you are going to have to get a bigger turbo. Period.
