New Guy! Educate Me

Hey guys

My name is Justin, I am in the process of purchasing my first jap spec mr2... The MR2 I am purchasing is the 1990 JAPANESE MR2 GT. My questions are:

- Are the GT models only the ones after 93 ?
- I want the 240hp JAP GT? is this the one i am getting ?
- what engine does the JAP GT have?
- Could someone tell me the performance stats for the different models in the MR2 range,

BASICALLY DO ALL GT's FROM JAPAN HAVE 240hp and run the qtr mile at mid to high 13's

I just want to make sure I am getting what I am about to pay for ? I know their are 2 types of GT's the 220hp and 240hp. I am hoping for the 240hp one since i am aware this beast does 13.6-13.8 quarter mile stock.

All your help will be appreciated, I used the search feature but couldnt find the right answers.

Dont hurt me I am such a NOOB

Thank You

Justin

i heard it doesnt matter anyway since they are the same engine and once u start tuning they will reach thesame performance goals anyway. I mean u cant go past 300rwhp with the ct26.
