noob questions...

I finally got my 93 MR2 N/A. I was wondering why the engine compartment has an area right above the stock airbox that is open? Wouldnt water get in there? Is it supposed to be like that? If this is a n00b question, my bad.

Oh and also, the owner that i bought it from told me hes put in premium from day 1, should I do this also or just regular?

Thanks bros.

There should be a guard to direct water away from the egine and down on the left side of the pannel.

I don't know for NA's but with turbos Premium and regular makes a difference. I tried regular and can only go for about 2 days. Roughly 150-160 mpg but with premium I get about 200-210 mpg.

There is a panel throughout the rest of the compartment, but like i said i can literally see the air box when looking down into that one corner, its open. Its the drivers side corner closest to the rear windshield. I just dont get it, dont want anything bad to happen.
