MR2 vs. FTO drag

Hey guys,
i have an up coming 1/4 mile drag race with a guy having a 95 mitsubushi FTO 2 liter V6.. i have a JDM 1992 2nd gen MR2 which has 220 hp stock.. my mods are k&n racing filter and a manual boost controller.. the FTO has only an intake mod.. my stock boost gauge reads above the plus sign.. i dnt have an aftermarket boost guage yet.. so, could anyone tell me what are my chances of winning (regardless of the driver)? and any tips? tnx guys..

I highly recommend you get a boost gauge so you know what pressure you are boosting to. The OEM boost gauge is slow response and inaccurate.

I think most MKII owners with 13 to 15psi boost can achieve high 13s in 1/4 mile.

I see that you haven't had many responses to your question. The question is ambiguoius at best, but the the MR2 is a formadable little sucker and I think you have just as much chance at victory as your opponent. Get a good launch and shift at all your optimum trq rpms. I have never really thought too much of the V6 Mitsubishi and all the ones I've come across have stayed in my rear view mirror. and my '91 is close to stock..I'm no pro racer, but I agree with what BDSL had to say. Plz let us know how you do..Good Luck!!! http://members.cardomain.com/mr2bad

V6 FTO..?

FTO's were 4 cyl, and didnt pump out more than 180 hp...

unless you're talking about a GTO (3000GT here in the states), if turbo, you dont have a chance...

if NA and Auto, you'll likely give him a run for his money..

MR2crazybyong-when's the race? I'm surprised they would pair you up with a V6.. and 2.0 ltr is awfully small displacement for a V6.. the Am. version are 3 ltr-I believe
