100k mile tuneup
Hi all.
I just bought a 1991 MR2 turbo with 100k miles on it. I'm new to the car, so bear with me. It did NOT come with the manual to the vehicle, so if anyone knows where an owners manual is online, I'd much appriciate it. I looked for a Chiltons and Haynes manual at the local Pep Boys and it seems to be AWOL, although most of them were in poor condition so it's entirely possible that I missed it or they didn't carry it. An amazon.com search yielded a guide that covered the tercel, corolla, and MR2, but those are incredibly different automobile and it got poor reviews. I figured I would post a thread...
What would you do to tune up the car at 100k miles? Assume that the guy did the oil and antifreeze and nothing else. Which is pretty much what he did.
The plan is currently:
Timing Belt (interruption engine, right?)
Clutch
Pressure Plate
Throwout bearing
AC Belt
Alternator Belt
Fuel Filter
Oil Filter
Fluids
That last one is a problem. Without the owners manual to the vehicle, I'm in a bit of a bind. How much engine oil does it take at what weight? How much of which oil am I going to need to refill the clutch housing? Is the gearbox oil sperate or a shared pool and if it's seperate, is it worth changing?
Thanks guys,
Josh
