Hmmm, I'm assuming you don't know the secret behind batteries in the U.S.

See, there are 4 battery manufacturers in the U.S. The Gov. won't allow any more to go into business for environmental reasons. So, there are other factories that have one job. That job is to place the correct labels on the batteries. Exide, Everstart, etc. are all the same battery.

So, basically, whatever you buy, it's gonna be the same battery for the most part.

How do I know this? I live near the plant in East TN that labels these batteries *grin*

Do yourself a favor and go to Wal-Mart and pay $40 for an EverStart that will last a good 2-3 years and then do it again when that one fails. It's better than $80-$120 for one with a performance label.

hmmm ... I wonder what the Exide battery plant makes that is with 7 miles of me?!
*scratches head*
... or the Yuasa battery plant .... then there is the Deca Battery plant.
I wonder what all those places do?

For what it's worth, I use an Odyesses dry cell battery in Hyde (the race car). It only weighs 15 lbs so I saved over 20lbs from the one that was in there. Plus a dry cell battery can be mounted anywhere (even upside down). It is not enough juice to run the accesories with the car off though. It is simply enough to start the car.

I think it was about $90.

Well worth it seeing how much weight I saved with it:
