91 mr2/celica swap???

my 91 mr2 has 221,000 miles and running strong, but like to go any day...

i found a 92 celica GT that has been hit, can the ENGINE AND TRANNY swap direct into my MR2????

Not without some custom work. Engine sure, but the trans in the celica is a FWD, and it's shiftrod sticks to the rear, toward passenger area, your MR2 sticks out the front, towards passenger area. This can be modded though. I can't say if the axles would fit or not.

thanks for the info! it is a 92 celica gt for $1,500, been hit in the right front. but didnt hurt any components...runs great with good mileage. i figure for 1,000 i could part out the rest of the car, but i doubt it would be worth the effort

the axles should go right in. Why not use your tranny on your mr2 currently?

92 Celica engine do not have idle screw and cold injector. I don't know if its the same in your MR2. If not, you'll need the ECU also.
Find an old engine for cheap, rebuild it and wait for swap.
