refinishing wheels

I was thinking of keeping my original wheels for my 91 n/a but they are looking kind of old. Anyone ever refurbed their wheels (eg. sand blastnig, painting, etc..) I'd be interested to see if anyone has had success and what kind of process and paint they used.

If u can get them blasted to get the rust and old paint off you save a lot of the work.

DupliColor Wheel Paint is good. Make sure to use clear coat on top.

i painted the stock rims on my 91 with high temp, high gloss black paint (900 degree paint, those brakes can get pretty hot). i put several layers on each rim, and clear coated them to finish it off. to my suprise, the paint never chipped off the rims while on the road... but when i had to take the wheels off to change brake pads, i accidently banged up the sides of my newly painted rims while removing the lug nuts. from then on i was more careful, and had no problems with my wheels.

i would post a picture, but i dont know how to.

first you just need to host your site to a domain such as Cardomain.com. Follow the instructions on the site on how to start a new account and then upload your picture in your newly created page. Afterwards, browse through your page (not in edit mode) and you will see that you can click on the picture so that it zooms in on a pop up window. Right clich the content of the window and click properties to highlight the image address (something like http://cardomain.com/xxxx/xxx.img) Once you have that, you just click post/reply on any forum message and you'll see a little envelope icon on the toolba, where it lets u bold, italics, and underline. Just paste the entire image link after you click the icon, and you are done. This is a must learn if you really want to show your car to other members as most message boards use this kind of system. Good luck

why not just spend that money on getting a used set of 93 rims..they look much nicer than the ugly 14'' 91 stockers.....
