jdm ecu code number?

Hey whatsup everyone,

can anyone tell me the code number for the japanese 3sgte ECU? I need it because i am currently doing a jdm swap into a 91 mr2 n/a. I recieved everything that is needed, but my mechanic said that the ecu and wiring harness don't fit together or something??? So he doesn't know which is the wrong part, either the wiring harness or the ecu. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

The USDM and JDM wiring harnesses are the same as far as I know. People switch out JDM ecu's into US motors all the time. My guess is that you have the wrong wiring harness.... maybe one for a 5sfe?

BTW: You aren't going to want to buy one new from the factory.... the price would be INSANE. I think they are something like $1,300. Find a nice used one.

Oh gotchya ok thanks a lot for the help. So your saying that maybe the wiring harness that i got is for the 5sfe? Because since the jdm and usdm wiring harnesses and ecu's are basicly the same fit, there shouldn't be any problem? Sorry just making sure i understand. Thanks a lot though.

^Yep.

Try getting a hold of Dennis (board name and real name) on either here or mr2oc and see if he can get you a wiring harness.

Er...

Your in Norcal..... try Josh at ChicoRaceWorks. Think his board name is 'mister3'.
