antenna help

I bought a replacement antenna mast on ebay. The directions tell of a nut that acts as a stop for when the antenna goes all the way up. It says to losen it.

where is this nut and how do i losen it?

here's the directions that it has given me

I found directions from http://www.mr2.com/TEXT/InstallAntenna.html. Is there any other way to install this damn thing without taking off the side of my spoiler? The bolts are very hard to access.

Boy has this been a headache. mr2: 1, me:0

I took out the carpet liner. Yes you can see the shaft/motor, but the nut that is to be loosened can't be reached. I believe it's above the black rubber thingy. Not sure though.

it bolts to the body and they added an extension to reach the spoiler, you've got to remove the spoiler two nuts not that hard to reach. On mine there are two nuts in the rear and a type of push clip in the front I just pried it straight up. 91 turbo

if it is 91 style wing the clip is at the tip of the spoiler toward the front of the car, you can't reach it from the inside. after you remove the 2 nuts it will still feel attached they are kind of stuck pretty well, I had to put some force on it to get it to move. the back should loosen you should be able to work the front clip loose. this is just how I did it and caused no damage on mine. good luck

When you remove the spoiler and put it back on, what prevents water from leaking into the trunk? I'm concerned b/c when i had my 2 repainted, I believe the body shop used some sort of adhesive to prevent leaks

By the way, thanks for everone's help.
