BOV REmoval & Denso Iridium Plugs

ey everyone...i just purchased the factory BOV and Pipe from Ebay..its coming off of a 1996JDM Spec mr2. I currently have an HKS SSQV BOV. Is there anything within that swap that I should look out for? Would it affect the other mods that were done to the car.

I believe the EGR on my car was disabled, Cat was hollowed, K&N Intake, Borla Exhaust. Im just mindful of the jdm bov affects on the current set up. thanks

If you don't have a 3rd gen motor I don't think it will fit right. I'm not sure what the difference is..... but I know the 3rd gen and 2nd gen have different IC pipes. If you are not using the pipe and just using the BOV.... I think you will be okay. Make sure everything is there.... including the vsv.

Your car should be a little quicker to respond and the a/f's should clear up a bit.

factory set up referrence

Does anyone have a scanned descritpion of the factory layout of the OEM BOV. I just got it in and I dont have a referrence to go by. The HKS SSQ BOV will be removed. I just want to make sure all the propper connections are made. Finally more efficient gas consumption and better response.

Thanks

ey everyone..i just had another question about Denso Iridium Plugs. Assuming that there is an imbalance in air fuel mixture as a result of the BOV **HKS SSQV** venting to atmosphere, would these plugs correct that imbalance of air fuel ratio. that is the current plug set up in my car. **along with the TRD Wires** How would the car be affected if the Stock BOV as installed to go along with the plugs and wires.

I don't see how any plug could correct an air/fuel ratio...

Well im just thinking not all plugs are the same. The burn factor maybe more on Iridium plugs..i just figured it may burn the excess fuel dumped to burn the air that is vented out from the AF BOV.

possibly, but to burn more fuel it takes more air. it's a vicious circle.

The aftermarket vent to atmosphere BOV's do make your engine run a lttle richer. But better rich than lean. I am using a Turbo XS BOV and I do like it, but i have been thinking about going back to the stock one. If the Turbo XS BOV ever fails, I WILL put the OEM bypass back on and keep it that way. best thing to do is keep your engine tuned-plugs,cap, rotor and wires in good condition...
