Question MR2 turbo vs Prelude SH 97-up

This prelude SH bone stock wants to race/street drag..Does he stand a chance?..I don't think so, turbo has advantage in this race..What do you guys think?

a stock prelude would prolly run mid 15s in the 1/4....a turbo mr2 stock....runs a full second faster.....add some simple mods and the prelude doesn't stand a chance unless u can't drive for beans......

Talking

All I have in a HKS intake and a custom exhaust and a well maintained motor. I shouldn't have any problems beating the prelude SH.

MR2: 200lb-ft @ 3200rpm, curb weight: 2880
Prelude: 156lb-ft @ 5250rpm, curb weight: 3042

There's no way even with mods. A turbo engine will ALWAYS outperform an N/A engine in a similar weight class. The H22A is lazy off the line, and while it's being lazy, the 3S-GTE already has 100% of its torque to the wheels at 3200rpm long before the H22A reaches 5250rpm.

And WOW, the SH is HEAVY.

I owned a 97 Type SH Prelude before this MR2 Turbo. I have to say, if it's stock, he has the POTENTIAL to run a 15.5 in the 1/4, with a 6.8 0-60. That's what myself, and others were able to pull out of our H22A4's. Off the line, you will take him, because it's hard to launch those cars without a little wheel hop. So I have confidence in him getting a good look at your license plate for however long you race. But like everyone has said. Street racing is illlegal and dangerous...take it to a local track.

i had a 98 GSR integra which is similar in speed. I ran a 15.3 consistantly with only a AEM intake and im pretty sure i woulda taken a prelude anyday.
