Help....suspension question.

All,

On my 91 turbo, I recently installced kyb adj struts w/ tanabe springs, and I noticed the springs could still be move around, and could hear the springs squeak when I break. Is this usual? If I jack up the car, I could easily move the spring.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

the springs should not be loose.sounds like they sent you the wrong set of springs. too short maybe ...or wrong struts.too long...either way,not good ....

Just a question...I take it your springs are for lowering? If so.. are the struts matching for size? My kid did his and although he didn't buy new struts. The tops of the rubber buffer on the struts had to be cut about 2 inches to match the new spring size. Of course the springs will turn with the struts "when turning the wheel" left or right. They should not be loose or spin around. Ensure that the top of the spring is also positioned in its upper and lower brackets correctly so you don't get complete spring spin. When completed correctly...you will more then likely have to get some rubber hose to stop the spring chatter when going over bumps or comings to stops. PS The hose should have the same hole dia as the spring. Cut about 4 pieces for each side about 4 inches in length (then cut in a spiral patern) so they won't fall off, and place these on the top few spring arches where the springs are almost touching. This will stop any spring slap. Hope some of this info will help.
